[ET Net News Agency, 23 September 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$66.75 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.57 billion, or 11.34% of the
market's turnover. There were 607 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$755.57 million and HK$665.59
million, or 9.98% and 8.8% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 40.99% and 19.67% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$381.01 million and HK$315.87
million of short sales, accounting for 5.03% and 4.17% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 10.7% and 10.94% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.5, or 0.77%, to HK$65.58. BABA-W ended up HK$0.5, or 0.57%, to
HK$87.7. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.14, or 0.74% to HK$19.08. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$2.6, or
1.91%, to HK$133.3.
