[ET Net News Agency, 12 May 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$140.43 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.1 billion, or 13.6% of the market's turnover. There were 804 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and KUAISHOU-W (01024) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.27 billion and HK$1.21 billion, or 6.67% and 6.32% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 24.76% and 18.93% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$995.64 million and HK$702.09 million of short sales, accounting for 5.21% and 3.68% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 14.85% and 16.1% of respective stock's turnover.
XL2CSOPHYNIX closed down HK$2.32, or 2.39%, to HK$94.68. KUAISHOU-W ended up HK$1.8, or 3.49%, to HK$53.4. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.1, or 0.38% to HK$26.64. BABA-W jumped HK$0.3, or 0.22%, to HK$134.2.
