There were 813 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.52 billion and HK$1.03 billion, or 9.42% and 6.39% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 41.47% and 30.2% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$509.64 million and HK$500.51 million of short sales, accounting for 3.16% and 3.1% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 15.82% and 13.44% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.18, or 0.21%, to HK$85.58. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.16, or 0.63%, to HK$25.54. BABA-W rose HK$1.9, or 1.74% to HK$111.2. TENCENT jumped HK$7.2, or 1.72%, to HK$426.2.
