[ET Net News Agency, 10 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$78.18 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.24 billion, or 13.1% of the
market's turnover. There were 635 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$925.57 million and HK$641.65
million, or 9.04% and 6.26% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 12.81% and 11.18% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$616.21 million and HK$497.42
million of short sales, accounting for 6.02% and 4.86% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 28.03% and 22.19% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$1, or 0.27%, to HK$374.4. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.34, or 0.48%,
to HK$71. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.008, or 0.19% to HK$4.212. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$0.15,
or 0.44%, to HK$33.6.
