[ET Net News Agency, 10 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$144.7 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.97 billion, or 14.49% of the
market's turnover. There were 671 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.62 billion and HK$1.08
billion, or 7.72% and 5.17% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 11.67% and 27.82% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$996.52 million and HK$832.17
million of short sales, accounting for 4.75% and 3.97% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 23.96% and 9.63% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$3.8, or 1.02%, to HK$369.6. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.042, or
1%, to HK$4.178. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.2, or 0.59% to HK$33.55. HSCEI ETF declined by HK$0.8,
or 1.12%, to HK$70.54.
