[ET Net News Agency, 24 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$159.81 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.8 billion, or 13.64% of the
market's turnover. There were 667 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.48 billion and HK$1.9
billion, or 11.36% and 8.73% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 20.38% and 18.11% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.29 billion and HK$1.07 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.91% and 4.9% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 21.67% and 11.41% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.36, or 1.81%, to HK$20.26. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$2.35, or
6.81%, to HK$36.85. MEITUAN-W fell HK$1.1, or 0.73% to HK$150. TENCENT jumped HK$9.4, or
2.47%, to HK$390.6.
