billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$45.23 billion, or 15.45% of the market's
turnover. There were 832 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.72 billion and HK$1.84 billion, or 6.02%
and 4.07% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 17.37%
and 14.05% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.56 billion and HK$1.52
billion of short sales, accounting for 3.45% and 3.35% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 28.25% and 38.42% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$17, or 3.39%, to HK$519. BABA-W ended up HK$4.4, or 3.48%, to
HK$130.7. BYD COMPANY rose HK$2.1, or 2.27% to HK$94.7. CSOP HS TECH jumped HK$0.144, or
3.07%, to HK$4.836.
